Location: The
location - EXCELLENT!
(unless you enjoy the noisy,
sleazy downtown with police sirens and massage parlors). We are located in the old, atmospheric part of town, in the middle of Jaffa's Oriental Bazaar - lively during the day, quiet at night and within walking distance to anything you need in the big city. It is next to Tel-Aviv's most beautiful beaches and close to restored Old Jaffa and the old harbor. Around the hostel there is a big choice of eating places who cater mainly to the locals and therefore are authentic and significaly cheaper than the ohter ones in Tel-Aviv. Generally speaking - you are less likely to fall into a tourist trap in Jaffa and if you want to do some shopping - cloths, souvenirs exc. The 'Flea Market' is the cheapest place to do so. Jaffa is also one of the few places in Israel where you can see Jews and Arabs living together in harmony.
By car: Get off the Ayalon freeway at exit no. 12: KIBUTS GALUYOT RD. Turn west into Tel Aviv through 8 traffic lights, the nineth is a T junction: take a left. On the first traffic light turn right to Jerusalem blvd. Turn left on the first traffic light to Raziel St. Drive to the clock tower sqaure, and keep going straight up (with the clock tower to your left) on Jaffa Rd. Turn left on the seconed street, Amiad St., and drive striaght onto the pavement and the begining of the Flea Market. Stop at Amiad 13, under the big fig tree, and you are under the hostel. Parking in front of our door and is free on the left side of the road, but it can be a bit of a problem during the day, and no problem at all from early afternoon.
